Are Scout Troop meetings boring? Do you
wonder why you go through the effort to attend? Do you show up late and
leave early because you feel like you are wasting time? WELL FIX IT !!
Ya....FIX IT !!!! This Scout Troop belongs to the Scouts enrolled in it.
It is up to YOU to plan, organize and lead the Troop into having fun and
worthwhile activities. It is not up to me the Scoutmaster to show up each
and every week and entertain you. I will help you where I can, but ultimately
it is up to you to make the meetings succeed or fail.
We conduct PLC (Patrol Leader Council) meetings once a month to plan for
our weekly meetings. Frequently we only have 4 or 5 guys show up. Get
involved and help us plan for more exciting and worthwhile meetings. Then
instead of looking for someone to blame, we can all stand around after
the meeting and pat each other on the back for a job well done. Get involved
and FIX IT !!!!

Congratulations to one and all for a job well done on the 2004 “Chili
Feed”. It was a resounding success. A remarkably dedicated effort
was put in by about 75 of us to make the 20th “Feed” one of
the best of all time. I truly felt it was one of the smoothest operations
of all time for us. Also, THANK YOU from me to all of the Troop 60 Scouts.
WOW....what an effort. 6+ hours – nonstop – and nary a complaint.
You guys are awesome. You are the best. I am so very grateful that you
made my job so easy.
Also...Thanks Troop Committee, Scout Leaders, Parents and Family Members.
I won’t mention names because I will surely leave someone out, but
know that I appreciate you.

In this newsletter is our upcoming outdoor calendar. Please review it
with your son and make plans with him to take advantage of as much of
it as he can. Remember they need your support and encouragement.
